‘Galley Cafe’

IMG_7496

The ready-made scone-wich is dry, but is loaded with a tonne of cream to mask it. The scone is good enough, and the cream thickly whipped enough to stay fixed in position. I live the little Titanic flag protruding from the top.

Scones:

Jam:

Cream:

Tea: A basic range of tea bags served in a good-sized teapot.

Overall: A fabulous museum and experience but a lousy ‘scone-wich’.

‘Lobster Pot’

IMG_7492

It feels like a posh pub, so at lunchtime I am surprised to see plain and fruit scones available. I have one of each of the very small scones, which are crispy and fresh. The jam is syrupy sweet, and although the fresh cream is whipped, it’s fairly light.

Scones:

Jam:

Cream:

Tea: A range of Robert Roberts tea bags served in a small pot.

Price: $$

Overall: A gorgeous fishing village on the way to Games of Thrones sights.

‘The Weighbridge Tearoom’

DT@The Weighbridge Tearoom-Ballycastle

A selection of plain, fruit and cherry homemade scones is impressive – they are big, so you’ll only need one. Warm and fresh, I go for plain with a dash of jam. The portion controlled jams are slightly disappointing, but they are a better quality than most, plus there are a few flavours to choose from. The freshly whipped cream is thick enough.

Cream:

Tea: A range of Twinings tea bags served in a small pot.

Overall: A friendly and cosy tearoom with great views, and the perfect place to rest after visiting Carrick-a-Rede.
