In cafe heavy Mittagong, The Station Coffee House stands out for it’s high-ceilinged heritage building and obvious popularity. There’s hardly a table available midweek! It feels like it was a former butcher shop, but it could have been anything as it has penny farthing pictures around the place. A bike shop in the old days perhaps? There is a tray of scones on the counter and they look good: the perfect size and fresh to boot. The strawberry jam is ordinary and the cream is from a cream canister so is light and airy. I’m not a fan of drinking my tea from a coffee cup, but who am I to complain; it is a coffee house after all.
