Unless using the large car park or wandering away from the main shops, you may not stumble upon Annabels Cafe. I noticed the cafe during a previous visit to Milton when using the car park, but otherwise it possibly may have remained off my radar. The cafe has plenty of indoor, and for warmer weather, outdoor seating and is tucked well away from the Princes Highway. The scone and tea is a value for money morning or afternoon tea, but be warned, you may get waylaid by the homeware stores on the way there. The homemade strawberry jam is a treat, and goes well with the fresh scone that’s dense and robust. I do have a spot of bad luck with my light cream though. It tastes very sharp, but doesn’t smell bad like out-of-date cream. I later find out that it has something to do with the gas in the cream canister. It has since been rectified and I am told possibly replaced by double thick cream. Woohoo! Go the double thick!

Tea: A few varieties of Temple loose-leaf teas served in a teapot. The water is not hot enough so my tea doesn’t brew well.
